The Sun‑Earth L4 point provides a unique vantage point for both remote sensing of the solar‑storm source regions and in situ detection of particles, plasmas, and magnetic fields in the Heliosphere.
Within Korea’s heliospheric community, there have been ongoing efforts to plan a space mission for a heliospheric observatory at L4 (L4 Mission). Since its establishment in 2024, the Korea AeroSpace Administration (KASA) has played a key role in advancing the L4 Mission, which is now one of the highest priorities among KASA’s upcoming space‑exploration initiatives.
